I’m curious, what President Wouters meant when he said, We’ll need your help in the future too, with many exciting projects ahead.

A Long Journey of Dedication

Tim’s connection to ASI started in 1983, when he represented Denmark at the World Championship for Sommeliers in Brussels. After that, he didn’t stop. In fact, he made sure Denmark officially joined ASI, and helped build up our presence in the international sommelier world.

Since then, Tim has:

  • Been a jury member at every ASI competition for over 33 years

  • Worked on the ASI Marketing Committee

  • Helped organize ASI BootCamps

  • And served as Liaison Officer, connecting the ASI Board with the Education, Exam, and Competition Committees

“I’m curious,” Tim said afterward with a smile, “what President Wouters meant when he said, ‘We’ll need your help in the future too, with many exciting projects ahead.’”

From Dansk Sommelier Forening: Thank You, Tim

We at Dansk Sommelier Forening want to say a big congratulations to Tim Vollerslev on becoming an Honorary Member of ASI.

Tim has shaped not only ASI, but also helped build our own sommelier association in Denmark. He has been a mentor, a leader, and a strong voice for professionalism and passion in our field.

We are proud to have Tim as part of our history and a part of our future.

Thank you, Tim! 🍷

With warm wishes,

Tim Vollerslev didn’t come empty handed to Cape Town he brought two very heavy suitcases packed with some of Denmark’s finest wines. During informal tastings with his international sommelier colleagues, he shared a selection of Danish bottles, from DSF sponsor Skærsøgaard Vine.

Danish sparkling wines from Don’s both Brut and Blanc de Noir which truly impressed the international sommeliers. Tim also poured Danish Ice Wine, a crisp white made from Solaris, and the red “R” crafted from Leon Millot and an XXO Brandy made from locally grown grapes.
